Diagnosing systemic burnout on the front lines, and training the next generation to survive it.
The journey to becoming a physician is chaotic, overwhelming, and fiercely competitive. But it is also entirely conquerable if you have the right strategy.
I’m Dr. Naomi Jean-Baptiste (Dr. JB), the Founder and CEO of Hope4Med. My own path to medicine was forged at the highest levels of academic and clinical rigor, but it certainly didn’t start there.
Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, I immigrated to the U.S. and grew up in Orlando, Florida. As a first-generation high school and college graduate, I had to learn how to navigate the complex, unwritten rules of the pre-med pipeline from scratch. I eventually became the first doctor in my family, earning both my Bachelor of Science and my Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Duke University—successfully navigating the notoriously competitive “Double Duke” pathway.
From there, I matched into Emergency Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City (Columbia/Cornell), training on the front lines of one of the most demanding, elite healthcare systems in the world.
The healthcare system is facing an operational and emotional crisis. For years, I have dedicated my career to supporting attending physicians and diagnosing the root causes of systemic burnout.
But I realized that to truly heal the medical profession, we have to fight on two fronts: the present and the future.
We must eliminate the clinical friction and workflow inefficiencies burning out today’s front-line doctors, and we must practice Preventative Medicine by equipping the next generation of pre-meds with the resilience to survive tomorrow’s challenges.
Hope4Med exists at the intersection of clinical operations and medical education.
For Hospitals & ED Groups: We build clinical workflow technology and retention frameworks that stop revenue leakage, restore psychological safety, and keep your best physicians at the bedside.
For Future Physicians: We codified the exact organizational systems that helped me succeed at Duke and NYP into PreMed Vitals—an elite digital platform to track your metrics and diagnose your application.
Most consultants can tell you what’s broken in medicine. I can give you the blueprint to survive and fix it.
