We are excited to have you join us in the Metaverse. The platform we are using is called Virbela.
To get the most out of our time together, please follow the steps below PRIOR to the start of our event.
Contact us if you run into any problems and we can help troubleshoot any issues with you.
Times to download this application onto your computer or laptop will range greatly from a few minutes to 20 or even 30 minutes depending on a variety of factors with your computer or laptop.
All of our events will first start out on zoom then we will transition onto the metaverse to ensure we all arrive at the desired location together.
If you have attended a prior Metaverse event with us on Virbela and already downloaded the Virbela app onto you computer click here to let us know how it went.
If this is your FIRST TIME downloading Virbela please follow the TWO steps below which will allow you to function and engage as an avatar with us.
Step 1: Registration
If this is the first time you are using the Virbela platform, you will need to create a FREE account.
Below (see image) is how you can fill out this form.
Please remember your e-mail and password as that is how you will be able to sign into the platform once it is downloaded onto your computer or laptop.
Step 2: Downloading Virbela onto your computer or laptop
It is FREE to download and gain access to the Virbela Open Campus.
Below are the system requirements and instructions to download this app onto your computer or laptop to join in as an avatar.
Operating Systems supported:
Windows 7 SP1 + 64 bit or newer, including windows 11 Windows S mode not supported Mac OS X 10.11 or newer with exception of Mojave [10.14] users
**NOTE: Virbela is NOT currently compatible with Chromebooks or Linux based computers**
Recommended PC and Mac Requirements:
- CPU: 2.5GHz Intel Core 17 or 2.2Ghz AMD A8
- Memory 8GB
- Storage 5 GB but will need 10 GB for installation
- 10 MBPS for Internet
To download on a PC:
- Visit Download Virbela Open Campus | Virbela and click “Download for PC”.
- Double click on the downloaded file: exe.
- If Microsoft Defender says it is an unrecognized application, click the “More Info”
- Then, select the “Run Anyway” button, and the download should launch.
- Follow the installer steps and click ‘launch’ when prompted.
- Once the app is installed, click “Play” to open it and get started. NOTE: Please allow a few minutes for the app to download a patch the first time you log in to Open Campus.
Once you are able to download the Virbela application onto your PC, please click here to let us know how it went.
***You will receive a separate email with the password information to access our private area where the summit will take place once we get verification that you successfully downloaded Virbela.
To download on a Mac:
- Visit Download Virbela Open Campus | Virbela and click “Download for Mac”.
- Double click on the downloaded file: dmg.
- If an Apple security message pops up asking if you are sure you want to open it, press the green “Open” button.
- Drag the Virbela icon into the Applications
- Double click it to open Virbela and get NOTE: Please allow a few minutes for the app to download a patch the first time you log in to Open Campus.
